Wooden clock

A mechanical clock made entirely of wooden (laser cut) parts!





Together with A. and S. we have spent a weekend constructing, creating and assembling the parts. The first stage of the project was to demonstrate that the (deadbeat) escapement mechanism is working:



The project is still in progress, and a lot of work is required to fine tune the gears, the escapement, the weight, the pendulum. However it does progress. Here you see how the entire mechanism is working. There is currently no energy transfer onto the pendulum such that friction would quickly cause it stop. I am replacing this transfer manually in the videos. There is a weight exerting a torque on the axis of the first gear (not visible).
